Changes coming to WF&FSA’s Floral Distribution Conference

The Wholesale Florist & Florist Supplier Association is making some changes to its Floral Distribution Conference this year, according to a news release. Molly Alton Mullins, WF&FSA’s executive vice president, said it’s all in an effort to make the event more relevant, valuable and convenient to wholesalers.

WFFSA “Our main goal is to provide as much value as we can for our members,” Mullins said in the release. “Last year, we had record attendance, but we want to continue to evolve the event.”

The 2018 conference will take place at the Miami Airport Convention Center Oct. 16-18, which is a shift to a Tuesday-to-Thursday schedule.

This removes the conference from competition with the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit Oct. 18-20 in Orlando, and the change was made in response to feedback from WF&FSA members.

Additionally, WF&FSA is now requiring conference attendees to be WF&FSA members; a change Mullins said would allow the association to vet attendees and tabletop exhibitors, ensuring a “more level playing field” among all participants.

This year, WF&FSA is offering several incentives including complimentary conference registration to any WF&FSA members who have not attended the event since 2010 or have never attended. In addition, there is a special buy-one-get-one conference registration through June 15. There will also be a drawing for two nights’ accommodation at the Doubletree Miami Airport Hotel for all attendees who register by that early bird deadline.

“We’re making a big push for people who haven’t been to the Floral Distribution Conference — or haven’t been in a long time — to come this year and see what’s new,” Mullins said in the release. “We’re excited about this year’s event and want them to see the new WF&FSA.”
